Director, Software Quality

Basic Function:

This position is responsible for expanding Tx3’s software quality and application testing practice to support internal and external customers. This includes collaboration, development, implementation and management of quality assurance processes, procedures, tooling, staff and best practices. The Director, Software Quality is expected to help the management team improve competitive advantage / profitability by utilizing leading edge test automation tools and technologies. This person will play a role in enhancing Tx3’s competitive business capabilities through software quality testing, including performance testing, and innovations that provide the business with intuitive testing solutions that offer greater quality, predictability, scalability and automation.

Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Drive quality assurance (QA) and testing efforts in coordination with IT, Development and business leaders
  • Analyze and assess current QA and testing processes, practices and procedures
  • Collaborate with Management to define and execute QA roadmaps and strategies
  • Collaborate with Sales & Operations with software quality & automation input towards SOW’s, etc.
  • Develop, document, and implement best practices, processes, operational activities, and procedures
  • Build a software testing service catalog for Tx3’s Sales Team
  • Establish and implement standards for documenting and communicating QA activities, testing activities and test results
  • Ensure measurable improvement of software quality by identifying, developing, and implementing innovative QA capabilities, strategies, approaches and services
  • Support internal and external testing services engagements
  • Define quality metrics and targets for assessment, measurement and continuous improvement of QA and testing effectiveness
  • Define, implement and manage a quality assurance and testing framework
  • Improve the efficiency, effectiveness and speed of quality assurance practices and testing activities through the identification and implementation of automated testing tools and procedures
  • Partner with project managers, development, operations and support resources to plan, coordinate, execute and report QA and testing activities associated with software development projects, enhancements and production support
  • Manage a team of testers & automation engineers

Minimum Requirements (education and work experience):

Candidates must have a BS / BA degree and a minimum of eight years demonstrated experience in all areas of software quality assurance, including a working knowledge of best practices / concepts for functional and performance testing. Experience with software development processes including Agile / Lead methodologies, and DevOps concepts, particularly in an FDA regulated environment.



  • Knowledge of leading test automation tools (Tricentis Tosca, MicroFocus UFT, Selenium)
  • Experience using agile and test management tools (Atlassian Jira, Tricentis qTest, XPANDIT Xray and MicroFocus ALM)
  • Experience with Behavior Driven Development (BDD)
  • Cucumber automation experience preferably with Katalon
  • Experience with agile / scrum methodology and in sprint testing
  • Understanding of Computer Systems Validation and Computer Software Assurance
